Students who have returned from study abroad in France will participate in a round-table discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Maas Center conference room.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

Four senior students will relate their experiences this past year in Paris, Nice, Toulouse, Rennes and Nantes.  The event is organized by the faculty of the French section of the department of modern and classical languages.

Laura Stritzke, who comes from Harrison, N.Y., and is majoring in French and international studies, spent fall term '08 with the IES program in Paris.

Julian Hinson, who is from Minneapolis, Minn., and a pre-med / French dual major, spent six weeks this past summer with the Washington University in St. Louis "France for the Pre-Med Program," a competitive program that accepts up to 22 students in a broad spectrum of health-related fields and special interests. Participating universities have included Brandeis, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Hope College,  Johns Hopkins, Oberlin, California-Berkeley, MIT, Michigan-Ann Arbor, Virginia, Wisconsin and Yale.  Junior Lauren Clack of Bloomfield Hills likewise participated in the program this summer.

Natalie DeGeorge, who is from St. Clair Shores, is a French and international Studies dual major who opted for an entire year in France, spending her fall term '08 in Toulouse and spring term '09 in Rennes.

Alyssa Cassabaum, who is from Polk City, Iowa, and a pre-med major and French minor, spent spring '09 in Nantes.
