The Hope College "Sundays at 2" series will host a performance on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 2 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The new "Sundays at 2" concert series features HopeCollege faculty and distinguished guest artists throughout the academic year.

The Sunday, Feb. 21, concert will highlight work by Frederic Chopin and Samuel Barber, commemorating 2010 as an anniversary milestone for the birth of each composer.  Chopin was born in 1810, and Barber in 1910.

Retired faculty member Charles Aschbrenner, piano, will perform Chopin's "Polonaise in C-sharp Minor, Op. 26, No. 1," and "Polonaise in A Major, Op. 40, No. 1 'Military.'"

Pianists Adam Clark, assistant professor of music, and Lora Kolean, instructor in music, will perform an original duet version of Samuel Barber's "Souvenirs, Op. 28."

A piano trio consisting of violinist Megan Crawford of the Grand Rapids Symphony; cellist Richard Piippo, associate professor of music; and pianist Adam Clark will perform Chopin's "Piano Trio in G Minor, Op. 8."

Other "Sundays at 2" performances will occur on March 7 and April 11.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
