The 2008-09 annual report published by Hope College has earned a Silver Award in the 25th Annual Educational Advertising Awards competition sponsored by "Higher Education Marketing Report."

The competition presented gold, silver, bronze and merit awards in 30 categories encompassing publications, radio and television segments, Web sites and a variety of other marketing-related materials.

There were more than 2,000 entries from more than 1,000 colleges, universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.  A total of 16 schools were recognized by the judges as "Best of Show" winners; 218 schools received Gold Awards; 190 schools received Silver Awards; and 170 schools received Bronze Awards.

The judges consisted of a national panel of higher education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals, and the editorial board of "Higher Education Marketing Report."

The college's annual report, which covers the fiscal year running July 1 through June 30, includes an overview of institutional highlights, messages from college officials, financial statements and a listing of the year's donors.  The design template and theme for the 2008-09 report, "Meeting the Challenges," were developed by North Charles Street Design Organization of Baltimore, Md.  The editor was Jason Cash, who is campaign associate for college advancement at Hope.

Higher Education Marketing Report describes the Educational Advertising Awards as the largest educational advertising awards competition in the country.  Higher Education Marketing Report is in its 26th year and is read each month by thousands of marketers at colleges and universities throughout the country.
