The Hope College Concert Series will present Brett Dennen on Saturday, April 24, at 8 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

Dennen began modestly, playing his guitar fireside as a camp counselor. Fans began to form as he played at local coffee shops, eventually leading to the release of his breakthrough 2006 album, "So Much More."  "Rolling Stone" named him an "Artist to Watch in 2008."

With the release of his third album in 2008, titled "Hope for the Hopeless," Dennen saw an explosion of success. His 54-city, country-wide tour quickly sold out and "Rolling Stone" was quick to give another prediction: "with his third disc, Dennen threatens to give Dave Matthews a run for their tour grosses." Following the endorsement, "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Good Morning America Weekend," "The CBS Early Show" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" offered invitations for him to play his Top Ten hit, "Make You Crazy."

Dennen has toured with artists such as The Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, the John Butler Trio, Rodrigo y Gabriela and Ben Folds, and his song "Ain't Gonna Lose You" has been featured on "Grey's Anatomy."

Tickets cost $20 for the general public and $10 with a Hope College ID, and are on sale at the ticket office in main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse.  The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and can be called at (616) 395-7890.

The doors will open at 7:30 p.m. on the night of the concert.
