Colleen M. Conway, age 53, of Holland, died Friday, April 9, 2010, at Hospice House of Holland.

Miss Conway was a member of the staff with the academic rank of assistant professor at Hope's Van Wylen Library since 1989.

Miss Conway was born July 2, 1956 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin to Francis and Delores Conway. She gradu­ated from Craig High School of Janesville, Wisconsin in 1974 and Grinnell College in 1978. Subsequently, she was awarded a Master of Library Science degree by the Uni­versity of Iowa. She began her professional career at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. She joined the staff of Hope College’s Van Wylen Library in 1989 as Head of Technical Servic­es/ Assistant Professor. She was later promoted to the rank of Head of Technical Services/ Associate Profes­sor. While there she was a trusted advisor and mentor to generations of Hope stu­dents and a good friend to her colleagues.

Colleen was an artist with paper. She enjoyed sharing her creative cards with fam­ily and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Delores; brother, Michael ( Mary); brother, Peter ( Barb); and sister, Teresa, all of Janesville, Wisconsin; brother Fran­cis ( Victoria) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; sister, Patti of Lafayette, Colorado; sister, Anna of Colomiers, France; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Fran­cis and brother Paul.

A memorial service will be May 15, 1 p.m. at Hope College’s Haworth Inn, 225 College Avenue, Holland.
