With the 2010-11 season approaching, the NCAA has updated its Division III coaching records.
Women's Basketball
Hope coach Brian Morehouse ranks second nationally among active and all-time Division
III women's basketball coaches in winning percentage. Through 14 seasons he has an
.853 winning percentage behind only Gary Fifield of Southern Maine (.855) and just
ahead of Nancy Fahey of Washington-St. Louis (.851). The Flying Dutch over the past
five seasons have posted a 147-10 (94%) record, raising Morehouse's career mark to
348-60.
Men's Basketball
Retired Hope coach Glenn Van Wieren concluded his 33-year career as the 33rd winningest
coach across all NCAA Divisions. His career record was 660-219, .751. The winningest
all-divisions coach is Don Meyer who over 38 seasons at three different institutions
has coached 923 victories. Only six coaches across all division had a better career
winning percentage. The best was Adolph Rupp of Kentucky who had an .822 winning percentage
across 41 seasons.
