For the second straight year, Hope College has a volleyball All-American. Hope senior Jacie Fiedler of Richmond, Ill. (Richmond-Burton HS) has been named a second team Division III All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVBCA) in advance of the NCAA championships this weekend in St. Louis, Mo.

The middle blocker led the Flying Dutch to a co-championship in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) and a berth in the NCAA Division III tournament. During the season she was named the national AVBCA Division III player-of-the-week. Co-captain of the team, she was named to the All-MIAA first team for the second year in-a-row.

Teammates Greer Bratschie, a sophomore setter from Grand Rapids (East Grand Rapids HS), and Cassidy Bulthuis, a senior outside hitter from Nunica (Spring Lake HS), received honorable mention All-America recognition.

Fiedler becomes Hope's third volleyball All-American joining Andrea Helminiak who was honored in 2009 and her coach Becky Schmidt who was the first Hope player to receive the honor in 1998.
