The Ballet Club at Hope College will present its rendition of the holiday favorite "The Nutcracker" on Tuesday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland.

The public is invited.  Admission is free, although advance tickets, available in the ticket office in the DeVos Fieldhouse, are required.

Set to music by Tchaikovsky, the production is directed by sophomores Hillary Brunt of Santee, Calif., and Kelsey Carpenter of Whitehouse, Ohio.

The directors note that the "Nutcracker" performance is a collaboration of the work of several choreographers, each bringing with them their own varied histories with the beloved holiday ballet.

"All of our dancers have different experience levels, but we are so proud of how everyone is coming together to make this full-length ballet production possible," they said.  "We are excited to share this holiday classic with the Hope College and Holland community."

The Hope College Ballet Club is a student organization dedicated to exploring the spirit of ballet, increasing its members' technical efficiency through classical ballet, and considering the role that ballet plays in today's dance world through experiencing contemporary and original works rooted in ballet.

Located in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse, the ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and may be called at (616) 395-7890.

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Ave., between Ninth and 11th streets.  The Knickerbocker Theatre is located at 86 E. Eighth St.
