The Holland Department of Public Safety would like to announce an
upcoming free public seminar hosted by Hope College and the West
Michigan Criminal Justice Training Consortium.

The seminar, "Lessons from Jonesboro, Littleton and Vietnam:  How Kids
are Learning to Kill and Learning to Like It" is presented by Lt. Col.
Dave Grossman U.S. Army (Ret).

The seminar is free to the general public, parents and students and
will be at the Knickerbocker Theater in downtown Holland on Wednesday,
February 09, 2011 at 7 p.m.

Lt. Col. Grossman is an internationally recognized scholar, author,
soldier and speaker who is one of the world's foremost experts in the
field of human aggression and the roots of violence and violent crime.
 He is the author of On Killing, which was nominated for a Pulitzer
Prize.

The two-hour evening seminar will cover topics including human
aggression, youth violence and the affects of violent media on youth
and will challenge parents on what their children are being exposed to
and how it affects them.
