"Study Abroad: A Round Table of Returning Students from French and Francophone Countries" has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 9, from 4 to 5 p.m. in room 135 of the Martha Miller Center for Global Communication.
The public is invited. Admission is free.
Four senior students or recent graduates will relate their recent study-abroad experiences in Geneva, Nice, Paris and Nantes. The event is organized by the faculty of the French section of the department of modern and classical languages. The round table was originally scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 2, but postponed because of the college's snow day.
° Kevin Soubly spent his fall 2009 semester based in Geneva, Switzerland. A member of the Class of 2011 from Plymouth, he double-majored in political science and international studies, and double-minored in French and environmental studies.
° Joe Habbouche spent five weeks in Nice, on the French Riviera, this past summer, with the Washington University in St. Louis "France for the Pre-Med Program," a competitive program that accepts up to 22 students in a broad spectrum of health-related fields and special interests. Participating universities have included Brandeis, Brown, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Hope College, Johns Hopkins, Oberlin, California-Berkeley, MIT, Michigan-Ann Arbor, Virginia, Wisconsin and Yale. Habbouche is a senior from Sterling Heights, and a chemistry and French dual major.
°Julia Peterson studied in Paris during the spring 2010 semester. She is a senior from Grand Rapids, and a French and communication double major with a studio art minor.
° Corinne Schild spent the fall 2009 semester in Nantes. A December graduate from Valley Cottage, N.Y., she dual-majored in French and psychology.
