The Hope College Great Performance Series will feature Circo Aereo on Friday, Feb. 25, at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 26, at 1 p.m. in the DeWitt Center main theatre.

The "Le Monde" newspaper of France has said that Circo Aereo's "intelligence and skill ensure that the stage is filled with magical cameos - half circus, half cabaret."

Circo Aereo is an international contemporary circus group from Finland. Active since 1996, the group has visited several distinguished festivals and theatres in approximately 30 countries.

Circo Aereo's projects are characterized by artistic exploration in all aspects of the performance and the collective input of the entire artistic workgroup into the work. Working in the field of circus as well as object and movement theatre, dance and music, the group has been invited to perform at a number of circus, dance, music and theatre festivals.

Circo Aereo will be performing "Espresso," a Finnish-French co-production in which the different styles of circus fuse into a free flow, a combination of traditional circus art, sidewalk performance and contemporary circus based on movement. Four artists create scenes and stories, earthbound and in mid-air, through the art of juggling, dance and aerial performance.

Individual tickets are $18 for regular admission, $13 for senior citizens, and $6 for children 18 and under, and are available at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse. The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and may be called at (616) 395-7890.
