The traditional Meet the Flying Dutchmen scrimmage featuring the Hope football team will be held Saturday, Aug. 27.

The scrimmage will be held at the college's Ekdal J. Buys athletic fields, which are north of Holland Municipal Stadium.

The scrimmage will begin at 1 p.m. Admission is free.

With a pre-season roster of 113 players, coach Dean Kreps and his staff have been busy preparing the team for the college's 102nd year of gridiron action.

The Flying Dutchmen will open their season Saturday, Sept. 3 at Illinois Wesleyan University. The home opener will be a week later when the Flying Dutchmen host Wisconsin Lutheran on Saturday, Sept. 10 for the traditional Community Day game.

The Flying Dutchmen posted a 3-7 record in 2010 and finished fourth in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. The team has been predicted to finish fourth in this year's MIAA race.
