The Hope College Concert Series will host Mat Kearney on Monday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland.

Kearney will be headlining the night with a full band, drawing not only from his first two critically acclaimed albums, but also from his most recent offering, "Young Love." His third full-length album debuted at number one on iTunes and has been met with widespread praise.

"Entertainment Weekly" has said that the release consists of "earnest folk-pop ditties, riding a sunny hip-hop beat." "USA Today" has said of the lead single that "Kearney's lilting hit 'Hey Mama,' written for his wife of a little more than a year, only scratches the surface of this excellent album from the Nashville singer/songwriter."

Kearney's music has been featured on a large variety of television series, including "Grey's Anatomy," "The Closer" and "NCIS." Mark Joseph of the "Huffington Post" said about Kearney, "If this is the future of rock in America, it's a bright one."

Tickets go on sale for the public on Wednesday, Sept. 14, at the ticket office in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse, and cost $15 with a Hope I.D. and $25 for the general public.  The ticket office is open weekdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and can be called at (616) 395-7890. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and an opening act will begin the show at 8 p.m.

The DeVos Fieldhouse is located at 222 Fairbanks Avenue, between Ninth and 11th streets. The Knickerbocker Theatre is located in downtown Holland at 86 E. Eighth St.
