All-Region honors have been presented to Hope College sports athletes in cross country and volleyball.

CROSS COUNTRY

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association is presenting All-Region honors to seven Hope College runners. Athletes of member schools that finished in the top 35 individually at the NCAA Division III Regional are presented this award.

Honored are sophomore Camille Borst of Allendale (Allendale HS), sophomore Meredith Busman of Coopersville (Coopersville HS), sophomore Sheri McCormack of Holland (West Ottawa HS), senior Nate Love of Midland (Midland HS), senior Kate Nelson of Williamston (Williamston HS), senior Kelly Lufkin of Houghton (Houghton HS), and junior Blake Rottschafer of Spring Lake (Spring Lake HS).

VOLLEYBALL

The American Volleyball Coaches Association is honoring two Hope players with All-Region awards. Honored for a second year is junior Greer Bratschie of Grand Rapids (East Grand Rapids HS) and for a first time freshman Jenna Grasmeyer of Hudsonville (Unity Christian HS).

    Dr. Caroline Simon, who is interim dean for the social sciences and professor of philosophy at Hope College, has been appointed to serve as a mentor in a national program for graduate students interested in exploring the connections between Christianity and higher education and becoming teacher-scholars at a church-related school.
