Pam Dinucci, office assistant in the department of nursing, has been presented the Dean's Science Division Staff Excellence Award for 2011-12 for her high level of job effectiveness and positive student and faculty interactions.

Dinucci received the award on Friday, Dec. 2, during the division's Christmas celebration.

Dinucci has been a member of the Hope staff since 2007.  Responsibilities unique to her work in the department include assisting pre-nursing students in submitting their applications to the nursing program; coordinating criminal background checks and drug screening for new students; coordinating new-student orientations; collecting and organizing student and faculty records necessary for clinical placements with area health care organizations; and organizing departmental research symposiums each semester.  She played a central role in assisting the department's efforts for reaccreditation in 2008.

In addition, given her office's location near the main entry to the Schaap Science Center, she often serves as an unofficial receptionist for the building.

The division began presenting the Staff Excellence Award during the 2008-09 school year.  The other recipients have been Lori Hertel, director of biology laboratories (2008); David C. Daugherty, machinist for natural sciences laboratories (2009); and Tod Gugino, director of chemistry laboratories (2010).
