Both Hope College swimming/diving teams have been presented the 2011-12 Scholar All America Team from the College Swimming Coaches Association of America.

To be eligible, a team must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a four-point scale.  The women's team compiled a 3.62 cumulative GPA, second highest among all NCAA Division III women's programs, while the Flying Dutchmen had a 3.42 cumulative GPA to rank 11th nationally among men's programs.

Mills College topped the women's listing with a 3.65 GPA. Other MIAA schools receiving the distinction were Albion 3.47, Kalamazoo 3.43, Calvin 3.23, and Olivet 3.06.

California Institute of Technology led the men's listing with a 3.60 GPA. Other MIAA schools receiving the honor were Albion 3.27, Kalamazoo 3.17, Olivet 3.15, and Alma 3.12,

This marks the seventh time over the past decade that both teams earned this national academic honor in the same year.
