The Hope College Chapel Choir, the college's premier choral ensemble comprised of 40 auditioned singers, has announced its spring tour itinerary which will include concerts in Michigan, Indiana, Florida and Kentucky from March 11-22.

Founded in 1938, the Chapel Choir has toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada and has traveled abroad on eight occasions, most recently to South Africa in 2009. The choir wears distinctive robes designed by the husband-wife team of Charles and Ray Eames who are considered among the most influential designers of the twentieth century. The robe colors symbolize the four primary voice parts, from highest (yellow) to lowest (purple).

Chapel Choir director Dr. Brad Richmond is Director of Choral Activities at Hope College. A member of the Hope faculty since 1998, he teaches conducting and voice. A Canada Council for the Arts Conducting Award winner, he has toured with choirs throughout the United States, Canada, England, Austria, France, Italy, Hungary, the Czech Republic and South Africa. Several of his choral compositions have been published.

Upon its return, the Chapel Choir will present its annual home concert featuring its tour repertoire on Monday, March 26 at St. Francis de Sales church in Holland.
