Hope College senior Chelsea Wiese of Rochester (Rochester Adams HS) has been presented the NCAA Elite 89 award for maintaining the highest cumulative grade point average among all of the competitors in this year's NCAA Division III swimming and diving championships held in Indianapolis from March 21-24.

Hope College senior Chelsea Wiese of Rochester (Rochester Adams HS) has been presented the NCAA Elite 89 award for maintaining the highest cumulative grade point average among all of the competitors in this year's NCAA Division III swimming and diving championships held in Indianapolis from March 21-24.

The Elite 89 award is presented to the top scholar-athlete at each of the 89 NCAA championships held over the year.

Wiese is an accounting major. She has maintained a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average. Co-captain of the women's swimming/diving team, Wiese was the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion in the 200 and 400 yard individual medley events. She is a member of Hope's relay team competing in five events at the national championship meet.
