When a classmate was paralyzed in the summer of 2011, students at Hope College were inspired to do more to advocate for those with disabilities.  The campus’s Alcor Chapter of the Mortar Board senior national honor society took on the effort, organizing a project to make one of Hope’s cottages American Disability Act-certified.

Buffalo Wild Wings on West Shore Drive in Holland is supporting the effort.  On Monday, April 16, the restaurant will donate 20 percent of purchases to the project when customers present a certificate printed for the event.

The proceeds will support remodeling of the college’s Mayor’s Cottage to make it eligible for ADA certification.  Any surplus that the chapter raises will go to a support fund for students with disabilities at the college.

Certificates are available at the Student Union Desk located in the main-floor collegiate lounge of the DeWitt Center.  The desk is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The DeWitt Center is located at 141 E. 12th St., facing Columbia Avenue at 12th Street.  Buffalo Wild Wings is located at 2899 West Shore Drive.
