Hope College senior Lauren Wilbur of Norton Shores has been chosen to participate in the 2013 Governor’s Economic Summit being held in Detroit on Sunday-Tuesday, March 17-19.

Hosted by Michigan Governor Rick Snyder at Cobo Center, the event focuses on addressing the state’s employer-talent needs and creating opportunities for regional collaboration and placemaking.  Those attending and participating in the discussion will include thought leaders in business, education, and economic and work force development.  Wilbur, selected through the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, has been chosen to participate as a Young Talent panelist.

Wilbur is an economics and management double-major and minoring in French.  Her activities at the college have also included the business club, of which she is a past president; the Vienna Summer School; and the Delta Phi sorority.  She is a 2009 graduate of Mona Shores High School, and the daughter of Wesley and Jean Wilbur of Norton Shores.
