The Hope College Concert Band will perform on Thursday, April 18, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. Admission is free.

The program will feature several band classics, including: “Third Suite,” by Robert Jager; “Folk Dances,” by Dmitri Shostakovich; “Cornish Dances,” by Malcolm Arnold; “Chorale and Shaker Dance,” by John Zdechlik; and “Satiric Dances,” by Norman Dello Joio.

The Concert Band consists of Hope students, alumni and community members from the Holland and Zeeland area, and the event will feature several student conductors from the college’s music-education program.  The students who will be conducting include: sophomore Genevieve Janvrin of Woodridge, Ill.; sophomore Melissa Johnson of Livonia; sophomore Allie Kessel of Custer; sophomore Eve Panning of Holland; sophomore Leah Marie Peterson of Holland; and junior Jacquie Woudenberg of Holland.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
