The Hope College Concert Band will perform on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited. The performance is free.

The program will be a mix of traditional band works and some newer compositions.  Selections will include: “A Copland Portrait,” by Clare Grundman; “Canticle of the Creatures,” by Jim Curnow; “Farandole from L'Arlesienne,” by Georges Bizet; “Sang!,” by Dana Wilson; “Serenade,” by Vincent Persichetti; and a work by Gustav Mahler.

The group is directed by Robert (Gabe) Southard, associate professor of music.  This performance will feature student conductors Genevieve Janvrin, a junior from Woodridge, Ill.; Melissa Johnson, a junior from Livonia; Allie Kessel, a junior from Custer; Eve Panning, a junior from Holland; Leah Marie Peterson, a junior from Holland; Rachael Whitmore, a senior from Clarkston; and Jacquie Woudenberg, a senior from Holland.

Dimnent Memorial Chapel is located at 277 College Ave., on College Avenue at 12th Street.
