Hope football player Shawn Jackson has been awarded all-region honors for his performance during the 2013 season. The senior running back from Comstock Park (Comstock Park HS) made All-North Region Second Team by d3football.com.

Jackson is third on Hope’s all-time rushing list with 3,289 career yards. 

Jackson rushed for 1,160 yards and 12 touchdowns during the 2013 season. It is the sixth-highest single season rushing total in school history and sixth most rushing touchdowns.

Jackson was voted Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) MVP by the league’s coaches this season. It marked the 25th time a member of the Flying Dutchmen had been awarded MVP honors.

Jackson was one of two first-team, All-MIAA running backs. He rushed for 710 yards in league play and topped the MIAA in scoring with nine touchdowns and 58 points.
