Hope junior Rebekah Llorens has been selected Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Co-Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

The forward from Grayslake, Ill. (Grayslake Central HS), shares the award for games played through December 15 with Olivet forward Stefanie Lang.

Llorens averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds in earning tournament Most Valuable Player honors at the Hope Post-Exam Jam for nationally Hope (9-0 overall).

She scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in 24 minutes of play as the Flying Dutch defeated Capital, Ohio 93-68 in the tournament championship game. She had nine points and eight rebounds in Friday’s semifinal win against Finlandia.

Llorens, who is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and third time in her career, shot 76 percent from the field (13-of-17) and 80 percent from the line (4-of-5) for the tournament.
