The National Football Foundation has honored Hope quarterback Michael Atwell as its Scholar-Athlete of the Day for Sunday, Dec. 29.
Nominated by their school as the absolute best all-around scholar-athlete on their team, 171 candidates met the high standards needed for consideration this year. As part of its effort to highlight the best of the gridiron, the NFF separately highlights each of these 171 candidates on its website.
The senior from Geneseo, Ill., (Geneseo HS) carried a 3.91 GPA while pursuing a double major of Biology and Chemistry. He was honored as the Division III academic quarterback of the year as both a junior and senior.
