Hope forward Maura McAfee has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week in women's basketball for games played Jan. 6-11.

The sophomore from Midland (Midland HS) averaged 17 points, 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots per game as the Flying Dutch remained unbeaten with a pair of MIAA victories.

McAfee scored 13 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting from the field and added five rebounds and three steals in a 93-53 win over Saint Mary's. She then added 21 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots while playing only 20 minutes in a 71-52 victory over Adrian.

McAfee, who is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time this season and in her career, shot 67 percent from the field (14 of 21) for the week.
