The Hope College volleyball team finished the 2013 season among the NCAA Division III elite in several statistical categories.

Coach Becky Schmidt’s Flying Dutch tied for second in the nation with 13.09 assists per set.

As a team, the Flying Dutch also ranked fourth in kills per set at 13.96 and fourth in hitting percentage at .269.

Individually, sophomore setter Lauren Hazekamp of Fruitport (Fruitport HS) ended 10th in the Division III at 10.8 assists per set.

Junior outside hitter Jenna Grasmeyer of Jenison (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS) ranked 17th in points per set at 4.77 and 25th in kills per set at 4.01.

Hope finished the 2013 season with a 32-3 record and became national quarterfinalists in the NCAA Division III national championship tournament for the second time in school history. 

The Flying Dutch won their 12th Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association regular-season championship after tying Calvin for first place with a 15-1 league record.
