The Hope College Knickerbocker Spring Film series is wrapping up for the semester with the film “Spinning Plates” from Monday, March 31, through Saturday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Knickerbocker Theatre in downtown Holland.

“Spinning Plates” is a documentary about three restaurants and the people who make them what they are:  a cutting-edge restaurant named the seventh-best in the world whose chef must battle a life-threatening obstacle to pursue his passion; a 150-year-old family restaurant still standing only because of the unbreakable bond with its community; and a fledgling Mexican restaurant whose owners are risking everything just to survive and provide for their young daughter. The stories of family, legacy, passion and survival come together to reveal how meaningful food can be, and the power it has to connect people to one another.

After each showing, the members of the audience will be treated to a culinary surprise.

The film is not rated.

Tickets for “Spinning Plates” are $6 for regular admission and $5 for senior citizens, Hope College faculty and children, and are available at the ticket offices in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse (222 Fairbanks Ave.) and the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E.
