The Hope College Concert Series will feature Real Estate on Friday, April 11, at 8 p.m. at the Park Theatre.

The members of Real Estate are native New Jersey-ens who are currently based out of Brooklyn, but their unique sound has been described as reflecting locations spanning the States. Ultimately, though, Real Estate can’t be pinpointed with geography. Their sound is based on simple, clean guitars and catchy melodies, but the music they craft is effortlessly complex. “Pitchfork” has written that the band’s “layers of cycling guitar, rolling rhythm, and gentle echo are always understated…  more about conveying feeling.”

Real Estate’s new album, “Atlas,” released on Tuesday, March 4, via Domino, has already received a huge amount of critical acclaim, including “Best New Music” recognition from “Pitchfork.” “Consequence of Sound” has written that “the chords and arrangements on ‘Atlas’ are the densest Real Estate have ever attempted, shading their sunshine into something palpably more mysterious.”

Youth Camp will open for the evening.

Tickets cost $15 for the general public and $5 for Hope College students, and are available at the ticket offices in the main lobby of the DeVos Fieldhouse (222 Fairbanks Ave.) and the Events and Conferences Office located downtown in the Anderson-Werkman Financial Center (100 E.
