Hope’s May Term “The Indian Worldview" has made the news in the course’s host nation.
The caption for the photo with the number "13," from the “Daily Thanthi,” a Tamil newspaper in Madurai, has been translated as noting, “American students enjoying Indian culture wearing saris while visiting Meenakshi Temple.” The other, from a popular local Tamil paper called "Dina Ethal," notes, "American students enjoying Tamil culture walking along Marine Beach."
The course is led by Dr. Boyd Wilson of the religion faculty, who explained that the combination of young foreign visitors wearing traditional attire often garners attention.
