Sheri McCormack

Hope College’s Sheri McCormack has been voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Capital One Academic All-District ® Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Teams.

The recent graduate from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), advanced to the CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected next month.

McCormack is one of 10 NCAA Division III all-district selections from District 6.

McCormack has been accepted to the University of Michigan's dental school. She majored in Spanish at Hope while minoring in biology.

McCormack recently finished sixth in the nation in the 1,500 meters at the Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She became Hope's first All-American in the event.

Last fall, McCormack placed 17th at the Division III Women's Cross Country Championships. She recorded the Flying Dutch's third-highest individual finish at nationals. She also helped Hope place ninth in the team standings and match the second-highest finish in team history.

McCormack repeated as 1,500-meter champion at the Michigan intercollegiate Athletic Association Field Day earlier this month. She earned All-MIAA track & field honors for the third time this spring.

McCormack was named the MIAA's Most Valuable Cross Country runner last fall.

In March, McCormack received a NCAA postgraduate scholarship.
