Four seniors will lead the Hope College women’s soccer team this fall as captains: Lindsay Bieri, Erin Jipping, Nora Kirk and Courtney Schmidt.
Bieri is a forward from Holland, Michigan (Holland Christian HS). She is majoring in management and economics while also minoring in psychology.
Jipping is a midfielder from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS). She is a nursing major.
Kirk is a forward from Maumee, Ohio (Notre Dame Academy). She is majoring in nursing.
Schmidt is a defender from Lowell, Michigan (Lowell HS). She is majoring in chemistry and minoring in English.
Hope coach Leigh Sears said her team’s four captains “will bring a large amount of playing experience and will continue, with the rest of the senior class, to create a culture of unselfishness, extreme hard work, as well as, representing our team and Hope, with class.”
The Flying Dutch kick off the 2014 season on Friday, August 29 with a match at Wheaton (Ill.) College. Their home opener is Monday, September 8, against Albion College.
