Hope College senior Jenna Grasmeyer has been named Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Player of the Week for matches played through Aug. 30.

The outside hitter from Jenison, Michigan (Hudsonville Unity Christian HS), slammed 34 kills and added 32 digs, seven blocks and seven aces in leading the Flying Dutch to three straight victories, including two over teams ranked in top 10 nationally in NCAA Division III, at the Wittenberg (Ohio) National Invitational.

Grasmeyer recorded 13 kills for a .343 hitting percentage in a sweep of No. 5 St. Thomas, Minn., and added 14 kills, 14 digs and six aces in a four-set win over No. 7 Wittenberg.

Grasmeyer, who was named to the All-Tournament team, is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the sixth time in her career.

Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 2, at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts Adrian College in the schools’ MIAA opener at the DeVos Fieldhouse Main Court.
