Hope College’s Allie Wittenbach has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Offensive Player of the Week in women’s soccer for games played through Oct. 11.
The freshman from Ada, Michigan (Forest Hills Central HS), scored three goals in leading the first-place Flying Dutch to two conference wins last week.
Wittenbach scored twice in a 5-1 victory over Albion and tallied the game-winning goal in the second half of a 1-0 win over Adrian.
Wittenbach is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time in her career.
Hope returns to action on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when it hosts MIAA rival Trine. Kickoff is 5 p.m. at Van Andel Soccer Stadium. It is team poster giveaway night for youth.
