Molly Meyer

Hope College's Molly Meyer is the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for meets through January 24.

The sophomore from South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS), won three individual events and swam on a winning relay Saturday in Hope's 157-143 MIAA dual meet loss to Calvin.

Meyer won the 100-yard backstroke in :59.85 seconds, the 100 butterfly in 1:00.25 and the 200 backstroke in 2:10.11.

Meyer also swam on Hope's winning team in the 200 medley relay, which posted a season-best time of 1:51.54.

Meyer is being honored as MIAA Athlete of the Week for the first time in her career.

Meyer will swim next at the Wednesday-Saturday, February 11-14 MIAA Championships at Holland Community Aquatic Center.
