Hope College's Maura McAfee has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week for games played through January 24.

The junior from Midland, Michigan (Midland HS), averaged 22 points, 15.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocked shots in leading the Flying Dutch to two MIAA victories last week.

McAfee had 18 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots in a 63-50 victory over Trine, then followed by scoring a season-high 26 points and grabbing 16 rebounds, matching a career high in that category, in a 65-48 road win at Adrian.

McAfee, who now has 11 double-doubles this season, shot 59 percent from the field (20-of-34) and 80 percent at the line (4-of-5) for the week.
