Hope College staff members were recognized for service during the college’s annual service award luncheon, held on Friday, Feb. 6, at the Haworth Inn and Conference Center.

The event celebrates five-year service anniversaries starting at the fifth year, and also honors retirees of the past year.

Honored as retirees were Gayle Bleeker, Physical Plant, 27 years; Robert Bos, Mailroom, 15 years; James Brown, Physical Plant, 17 years; Mary Deenik, Hope-Geneva Bookstore, 19 years; John Erskine, Music, 18 years; Khamprasong Lotkhamnga, Physical Plant, 25 years; Sandra Ray, Physical Plant, 28 years; Gloria Shay, Registrar’s Office, 27 years; Sally Smith, Political Science/Philosophy, 23 years; and Barbara Vandenberg, Van Wylen Library, 10 years.

Honored for 35 years of service were Alfredo Gonzales, International and Multicultural Education; Christine Nelson, Van Wylen Library; and Cheryl A. Shea, Computing and Information Technology.

Recognized for 30 years of service was Andrea Mireles, Hope College TRiO Upward Bound.
