The Hope College Concert Band will perform on Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m. in Dimnent Memorial Chapel.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

The Concert Band will be performing a wide variety of music, including works by Gustav Holst, Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, Reinhold Glière, Tielman Susato, Ronald LoPresti and Eurydice Osterman.   The event will also showcase a number of student conductors from the music-education program.

A full band of about 70 performers, the Concert Band is open to all students and community members from the Holland and Zeeland area, and is directed by Gabe Southard, who will be joined onstage by Ingrid Lestrud. The Concert Band rehearses and performs standard repertoire, and allows music-education students to work on secondary instruments and rehearsal techniques.

The music-education student conductors will include sophomore Claire Dickson of East Dundee, Illinois; sophomore Alicia Ghastin of Canton; sophomore Hilary Hunsberger of Fennville; senior Genevieve Janvrin of Woodridge, Illinois; sophomore Madalyn Navis of Cedar Grove, Wisconsin; and junior Matthew Tallman of York, Pennsylvania.
