Dr. Jeremy Uecker, assistant professor of sociology at Baylor University, will present the address “Hookups and Sexual Relationships in Young Adulthood: What’s Really Happening and What It Means for Emotional Well-Being” on Tuesday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at Hope College in the Maas Center auditorium.

The public is invited.  Admission is free.

Uecker’s research focuses on sexual behavior, religion, family formation and mental health during adolescence and young adulthood. He is author of numerous journal articles on the topics and co-author of the book “Premarital Sex in America: How Young Adults Meet, Mate, and Think about Marrying” (Oxford University Press, 2011). His work reveals how social institutions and contexts can shape what are often considered “private” aspects of individuals’ lives.

The presentation is sponsored by the college’s Department of Sociology and Social Work and co-sponsored by the Social Science Division, Center for Ministry Studies, GRACES program and Office of Student Development.

The Maas Center is located at 264 Columbia Ave., between 10th and 13th streets.
