Hope College’s Jean Luc Miralda has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Swimming & Diving Athlete of the Week for meets through November 1.
The junior from Tegucigalpa, Honduras (Honduras Academy) is honored after setting a school record in diving during a 156-143 dual meet loss at Kalamazoo on Saturday.
Miralda broke his own 1-meter record for a dual meet with a first-place score of 287.40 points.
His score of 273.20 points on the 3-meter platform also topped the competition.
This is the second time in his career Miralda has received MIAA Athlete of the Week honors.
