Joseph Beemer ran to all-region honors as the Hope College men’s cross country team finished 11th out of 36 teams at the Great Lakes Regional on Saturday in Terre Haute, Indiana.  

The senior from St. Joseph, Michigan (St. Joseph HS) finished 23rd in the 8K race with a time of 25 minutes, 56 seconds. 

Hope posted a score of 290 points. 

"We moved very well in the last half of the race, but it wasn't enough to put us in contention," Hope coach Mark Northuis said. "This is a very strong region, and our men ran very well." 

Junior Tyler Brinks of Commerce Township, Michigan (Walled Lake Northern HS) recorded a 46th-place run of 26:20. 

Junior Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS) took 59th at 26.39. 

Senior Ben Zank of Midland, Michigan (H.H. Dow HS) placed 72nd at 26.51. 

Sophomore Ben Pederson of Mount Prospect, Illinois (Prospect HS) rounded out Hope’s scoring in 90th at 27:04. 

Senior Matt Rolain of Rochester, Michigan (Stoney Creek HS) placed 116th at 27:27. 

Senior Kyle Anderson of Shorewood, Minnesota (Minnetonka HS) was 143rd at 27.55. 

Wabash, Indiana won the regional with 99 points. Allegheny, Pennsylvania earned the other automatic berth to nationals with a score of 101 points.
