Forward Elizabeth Perkins of the Hope College women’s soccer team has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Week for matches played through September 11.
The senior from Eaton Rapids, Michigan (Lansing Christian HS) scored in each of two matches last week that got the Flying Dutch off to a 1-0-1 start in MIAA play. She had a goal in a 1-1 tie at Kalamazoo on Tuesday and another one in a 3-1 win at Adrian on Saturday.
Perkins has scored in every Hope match this season for a team-high five goals.
Perkins now has 19 goals in her career, tying her 14th place all-time among Flying Dutch players.
This is Perkins’ first MIAA weekly honor in soccer. She also has been recognized once by the MIAA in women’s basketball.
