Hope College’s Erin Herrmann has been selected the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association NCAA Division III Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week.

The senior from Wheaton, Illinois (Wheaton-Warrenville South HS) received the honor after recording a school-record and personal-best time in the 3,000 meters at the Grand Valley State University Open.

Herrmann’s run of 9 minutes, 44.42 seconds topped her old school and personal marks by eight seconds.

This fall, Herrmann also was chosen the USTFCCCA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week for her performance at the Ferris State Invitational.

Herrmann is a returning qualifier for the Division III indoor national championships in the 3,000 meters.

In November, Herrmann placed fourth at the Division III cross country championships and earned All-America honors. She is a two-time All-American in cross country and an All-American steeplechaser in outdoor track & field.
