Four members of the Hope College women’s swimming & diving team have been recognized by the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America for their successes in and out of the pool: Sarah Sheridan, Elizabeth Fris, Molly Meyer and Jorgie Watson.

Sheridan, a senior from Richmond, Indiana (Richmond HS), is one of a record 853 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans. The selections recognize student-athletes who have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.

Sheridan became Hope’s first national champion in 3-meter diving as a senior. She also matched the team-best finish with a third-place effort on the 1-meter board.

Sheridan will pursue a career in science education after graduating from Hope last month. She majored in physics education and minored in mathematics education.

Fris, Meyer and Watson were among 894 student-athletes named honorable mention Scholar All-Americans after achieving a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or competed at a regional or zone qualifying meet.

Watson, a senior from Grand Rapids, Michigan (Catholic Central HS), majored in exercise science.

Meyer, a junior from South Bend, Indiana (John Adams HS), is majoring in economics.

Fris, a sophomore from Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS), is an education major with a focus on the English language for kindergarten through eighth grade.
