Boone Marois headlines a group of six Hope College athletes to earn spots on the 2016 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Outdoor Men’s Track & Field Team.

The senior from Traverse City, Michigan (Central HS) earned the distinction for the second time in his career. He also was All-MIAA as a freshman in 2013.

Marois and five first-team All-MIAA honorees from Hope helped comprise the 22-member all-league team.

Joining Marois from Hope are senior Dion Goliday of Muskegon, Michigan (Oakridge HS), juniors Julian Morrison of Aurora, Illinois (Waubonsie Valley HS), Matt Pelyhes of Augusta, Michigan (Gull Lake HS) and Nicholas Salomon of Troy, Michigan (Gull Lake HS), and freshman Justin Freeman of Holland, Michigan (West Ottawa HS).

Marois won two events at last week’s MIAA Field Day. He earned league championships in the 200-meter run as an individual and by anchoring the 4x100-meter relay.

Marois, Goliday, Freeman and Pelyhes set a MIAA record with a time of 41.49 seconds.

Salomon claimed a MIAA title in the 800 meters.

Morrison ran away with the MIAA championship in the 10,000 meters.
