Hope College’s Gunnar Elder has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.
The junior from East Grand Rapids, Michigan (East Grand Rapids HS) won offensive honors for the third time in his career after posting 29 points on 17 goals and 12 assists over three games last week.
Elder led Hope to a trio of conference victories and became the all-time assists leader for the Flying Dutch after dishing out 12 last week.
Elder also became the program’s leading scorer for a season with the 29-point effort. Four of the goals were in man-up situations, and he also nabbed five ground balls and caused one turnover.
It marks Elder’s second weekly honor this season after also winning on March 7.
