Hope College’s Megan Klintworth has been selected the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week for meets through Sunday, Oct. 2.

The junior from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) is honored for the second time in her career after averaging 75.5 strokes over 36 holes of league competition last week.

Klintworth set a MIAA course record while shooting a 3-over-par 75 to take medalist honors at the MIAA Jamboree Hope hosted at The Ravines Golf Club in Saugatuck. She led the Flying Dutch to a first-place team finish.

Klintworth tied for the top spot at Saturday’s jamboree by carding a 4-over-par 76 at Pine River Country Club in Alma. She helped the Flying Dutch tie for top team scoring honors and maintain a 24-stroke lead in the overall standings.

At 77.3, Klintworth moved into the top spot for scoring average after four jamboree rounds and 72 holes.

Klintworth is the third Flying Dutch golfer honored by the MIAA this season. She follows senior Britni Gielow of Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores) and junior Nicole Meyer of Brighton, Michigan (Brighton) in receiving the league’s weekly recognition.
