Hope College’s Megan Klintworth has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Women’s Golfer of the Week for play through October 9. It is the second consecutive week she’s been honored.

The junior from Jackson, Michigan (Hanover-Horton HS) is recognized for the third time in her career after posting the lowest 36-hole total at the MIAA’s Fall Finish last weekend and leading the Flying Dutch to their third consecutive league championship.

Klintworth earned medalist honors at the MIAA Fall Finish by firing a 7-over-par 151 at Bedford Valley Golf Club in Battle Creek. She had rounds of 74 and 77.

She helped Hope win the tournament by 24 strokes over second-place Saint Mary’s and the regular-season title by 48 strokes over runner-up Saint Mary’s.

Klintworth set a MIAA record by averaging 76.7 strokes over 108 holes of league play this fall. She headlined the All-MIAA First Team as Most Valuable Golfer.

The Klintworth-led Flying Dutch also surpassed the previous MIAA team scoring by five strokes with a 317.2 average and clinched hosting rights to the final two rounds of the MIAA’s NCAA Division III Championship qualifier next spring.
