Hope College’s Alexis Thompson has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Volleyball Specialist of the Week for matches through October 15.
The senior from Monroe, Michigan (St. Mary Catholic Central) is recognized for her performance during the Midwest Invitational the Flying Dutch co-hosted last weekend and one MIAA match last week.
Thompson averaged 28 digs over five matches, including a season-high 44 in a five-set win in the tournament finale against Clarkson, New York.
Thompson earned all-tournament honors at the Midwest Invitational where Hope posted a 3-1 record to improve to 19-3 on the season.
Thompson also totaled 19 digs as the Flying Dutch beat Olivet in three sets in MIAA action on Wednesday.
This is Thompson’s first MIAA weekly award.
