Hope College’s Britni Gielow has been chosen the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s Women’s Golfer of the Week for play through September 4.
The senior from Norton Shores, Michigan (Mona Shores HS) is honored for the second time in her career.
Gielow led the Flying Dutch to a runner-up performance at the 16-team, 36-hole Carthage College Shootout on the Border last weekend in Bristol, Wisconsin. Hope finished second to Wisconsin-Whitewater by one stroke.
Gielow tied for fourth place individually with a 15-over total of 159. She was only one stroke out of second place.
Gielow carded a team-low 77 during Friday’s opening round.
